Step into the world where dreams are nurtured and aspirations take flight in inDoctornated.
This heartfelt documentary explores the profound impact of the beloved and long-running British sci-fi TV series Doctor Who on three American fans.
From a freelance writer reflecting on his journey crafting stories for an inclusive theme park, to a scientist working to protect our environment, to an engineer building technology that saves decades worth of film, inDoctornated delves into the power of storytelling to ignite passions, change lives, and ultimately change the world.
Through candid interviews and personal anecdotes, inDoctornated celebrates the universal theme of finding purpose and making a difference. It captures the essence of a supportive community bound by shared inspiration and the belief that each person has the potential to create something meaningful.
inDoctornated invites audiences to reflect on the influence of media, the evolution of personal dreams, and the profound connections that unite us all in our quest for purpose and fulfillment.
inDoctornated is currently in post-production with an aim for a late 2024 premiere. Contributing to our fundraisers will go toward fees for further editing, color correction, music composition, sound mixing, festival submissions, lawyers, clearances, sales agents, insurance, poster and art design, website updates and more. Up to this point inDoctornated has been created on a shoestring budget with the principal players donating much of their time, typically with very little recompense. This is the stage where professionals must be hired to get it to the finish line, and professionals cost money.
Lastly, fans - and we're not just talking Doctor Who fans - who have spent any amount of time online in recent years, know well the toxicity that dominates so much internet discussion. Talkbacks all too often consist of reasonable voices pushed to the side in favor of anger and rage.
The filmmakers behind inDoctornated hope that our film is a reminder of the power of positive fandom. We want our film to inspire people to fall back in love with what it means to be a fan. Our hope is that in some small way, inDoctornated can be a bandage on some of the wounds that seemingly permeate not just Doctor Who fandom, but other fandoms as well.
