So, you’re ready to shoot and submit your audition video?
Hopefully you’ve read our “Who are we looking for?” and our FAQ pages by this point. If not, please take a look at both before moving forward.
Let’s go over a few simple rules/pointers before making your video.
1. Your audition should begin with the following:
a) Your first and last name
b) The city or town you live in
c) What you do for a living
d) When you started watching Doctor Who
2. Convince us that you can weave your story in such a manner that it will captivate and engage an audience. Making a few index cards to follow along with might not be a bad idea. Or write a whole speech. Or just wing it. Indeed, beyond what we’ve talked about here, it is entirely up to you how rigid or loose, how elaborate or creative you want to get…though to be clear, we’re only expecting folks to talk directly into the camera. If you want to grab our attention in some other manner, though, feel free.
3. Please try to keep your audition at three minutes or less. That may not sound like very long, but we feel it’s plenty of time to dazzle us and state your case. If you simply feel three minutes isn’t enough, go ahead and shoot a little more, but anything over five minutes, and you might be rambling. Besides, we want to save plenty of you for the actual documentary!
4. Presumably the bulk of the submissions will be made on Smartphones. If so, please hold the camera horizontally, so that your audition is shot in a filmic aspect ratio to match the movie. We will likely do a montage in the film featuring bits and pieces of many of the folks that weren’t chosen as one of the four subjects. If your video is pillar-boxed (i.e. vertically shot, with black bars on the sides), it’s highly unlikely we’ll use it. And you want to be in the movie, right?
5. While we would be delighted to cast a younger person as one of the four, if you are under the age of 18 years, we must receive a hard copy of our Terms and Conditions, signed by you and your legal guardian. Before submitting an audition video, please contact us at indoctornated@gmail.com, so we can give you further instructions.
If you’ve made your video and you are ready to submit it, please fill out the form below, and continue on to our Terms and Conditions policy. After agreeing to that, you can submit your audition.
All fields labeled * are required.
